"1935 will go down in history! For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our Streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead in the future!"

Adolph Hitler

Why the Second Amendment is so Important

Our nation was founded by men who had suffered greatly under totalitarian rule. They saw that the only thing standing in the way of freedom was the kings army, and vowed that this new nation would be free of any tyrants influence. They also knew that as magnificent a country as this was, that in time, tyrants could easily subvert our freedoms. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely". However, if the people had the power to take government away from tyrants, they could return it to whence it came. A government of the people, for the people, needed a means to enforce the law of land in the face of lawless leadership.

THIS WAS NOT AN AMENDMENT TO PROTECT OUR HUNTING WEAPONS, IT WAS MEANT TO GIVE US ALL, ACCESS TO THE WEAPONS OF WAR!

In the eighteenth century, an amendment regarding hunting rights could best be compared to a modern day amendment ensuring your right to go grocery shopping!

Of course, it would be impractical for us all to own Tomahawk missiles, but it was WITHOUT ANY DOUBT our founding fathers intentions that we do! So...what good does it do us now, you might ask? Even if I could easily purchase assault weapons, what could a few rifles do in the face of Black Hawk helicopters and sophisticated weapons we might not even imagine?

DON'T LET THEM KID YOU, THEY NEED THIS NATION TO BE PROFITABLE.

Even if "We the People" couldn't beat back "the kings army", we could make a real mess of things! Don't you forget that they know it too! Not too long ago I heard a friend speak of how he dreaded fighting in the streets and all of the horror it would bring. I share his distaste for war, and so don't the profit mongering elitist who are trying ever so hard to remove your last chance of making a difference. Our owning assault rifles won't let us beat the king, but knowing we have the power to enforce the true law of the land, the king will be hesitant to form his army against us!

"Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States"

Noah Webster in a pamphlet aimed at swaying Pennsylvania toward ratification. At that time, people understood the need to be able to enforce our will on the government, should it no longer serve us under the language of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Remember, this nation was born from revolution. Our founders understood it would take force to keep the government in line.
